My name is Rachel Davidson and I have served as a 212 high school tribe leader since the Fall of 2009 and I absolutely enjoy it! Years ago God began to build a desire in me to care for the poor and homeless. I would see them standing in the streets asking for help and my heart would go out to them, but I wanted to do more than just give money. Then piece by piece God began to give me ideas to reach out and connect with them. He showed me how I could help meet their simple practical everyday needs. Which we often take for granted. It started with things like handing out water bottles on a hot day then gradually turned into "care bags" with socks, chapstick, food, a gospel track, etc. From there I've helped with many varied avenues of homeless outreaches. I'm excited to come along side the 212 students to serve the homeless community, because I know that both the hearts of the students and the homeless and will be affected, challenged and matured in love. (Proverbs 14:31) "He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honor God."
